NMSU wireless Internet is an ICT service provided in various locations around campus. NMSU wireless Internet wirless zones are available for use by NMSU affiliated staff, faculty, students, and authorized guests.
There are two wireless networks available for use by NMSU affiliates: AggieAir and AggieAir-WPA2. AggieAir is a public connection. AggieAir-WPA2 provides an encrypted connection. For more information, check out our Wireless FAQ page.
How do I connect to NMSU wireless Internet?
That is, your computer must be configured for DHCP, and you must know your NMSU user name and password to authenticate to the NMSU network. (Note: most devices are now automatically configured for DHCP). When you’ve confirmed your DHCP setup and you have your NMSU user name and password ready, you’re ready to connect.
To connect please do the following:
- Make sure your device is equipped to connect to wireless Internet. Most modern computers and mobile devices are equipped to connect to wireless Internet. If you aren’t sure, the ICT Help Desk (646-1840, room 105 of Hardman and Jacobs Learning Center) can assist you.
- Make sure your device is configured for DHCP. Most devices are now automatically configured for DHCP. If you are having trouble connecting, you can refer to the steps here to modify your settings and register on the NMSU network.
- Locate an area with NMSU wireless on campus.
Your initial DHCP registration is good for any authorized NMSU wireless access point, meaning you will not have to register on the network each time you connect
